Meeting Wednesday 9 July, 10am coffee/chat, meeting commences at 10.30am Focus of this meeting will be “THE HISTORY OF CWL IN THIS DISTRICT. Structure for the morning: 10am meet in the “old front office” for tea/coffee. 10.30am Prayer then, CWL QUIZ: 20 questions (some will have clues), working in pairs. Prizes for the winners. Some questions go back to the 1920’s but others are from the last 30 years eg. Who suggested that we have a Market and in what year? Who always provided special flowers for CWL Meetings? Who were the President, Secretary & Treasurer when CWL reconvened in 1988? Then we move over to the History & Archives Room where there will be a display of photos, minutes, newspaper articles etc. Finally LUNCH IN THE MMK ROOM, soup/rolls and treats. The Archdiocese of Adelaide is preparing for a Synod in 2026. We invite anyone who wants to learn more about the Synod to join an online formation session each month with other people from across the Archdiocese. Each session will explore a different aspect or theme of the Synod. More information and recorded formation sessions are available on the Synod website at togetherontheway.au.

Diocesan Jubilee of Youth celebration Saturday 2 August, 2pm until 9pm at Sacred Heart College, Somerton Park. Young people aged 16-35. Cost: Free (including cost of all food & drinks), bookings essential. Hosted by the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults (COYYA), Power Up 2025 will facilitate an afternoon of engaging workshops on a variety of topics with opportunities to experience reimagined prayer and spirituality, participate in spiritual reflection & formation, and hands on activities that are centered around faith, ecology and social justice. After the workshops, Vigil Mass will be celebrated by Vicar General, Fr Dean Marin before moving into dinner, hot drinks and dessert from food trucks/ vendors with live music from local musicians. The evening will close with a praise and worship concert on the main stage featuring Proclaim Wildfire from the Lismore Diocese in NSW. Tickets (incl. cost of all food & drinks) are free, although bookings are essential. We're encouraging parishes & communities to consider bringing a group to engage and experience the joy of faith, spiritual formation and get Powered Up for the Jubilee Year! The Emmaus Earthcare Working Group invite parishioners to help implement the 7 Laudato Si Action Goals . These goals include Response to the Cry of the Earth and Cry of the Poor; Ecological Education and Adoption of Simple Lifestyles. The crochet group meets every Monday morning in the back meeting room of Holy Cross church, Goodwood. Starting from 9am and finishing 10.30 ish. New members always welcome. Just bring a ball of wool and a hook if you have one. If you don't know how to crochet we can teach you. You can bring other craft if you prefer. We work on our own projects and some joint projects.
