CWL  - reflection, meeting and lunch

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE Meeting May 8th: The month of May is devoted to Mary, the Mother of God, and this honouring of Mary during May has a long history in the Church. There are four Feast Days in May of special devotion to Mary:   Our Lady of Fatima, Mary Mother of the Church,  Our Lady Help of Christians (patroness of Australia) and Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Feast of St Joseph the Worker begins the month of May. Joseph was Mary's “rock” as he cared for both her and Jesus in the day to day life of this extraordinary family. Fittingly Mother’s Day occurs in May, and this year Pat Syrus will be reflecting on the Seven Sorrows of Mary and inviting us to share a memory of our own mother to mark Mother’s Day. A special lunch to follow after a short general meeting. A warm welcome to all.

LAUDATO Si ENVIRONMENT GROUP

The parish is revisiting its pastoral plan. One initiative in the pastoral plan is re-energising the Environment Group post Covid. It is proposed that the new group would be named Laudato Si Environment Group utilising the Adelaide Archdiocese document "Caring for our Common Home" as its strategic plan. The group would report to the PPC and be responsible for developing and implementing an action plan for the Emmaus Parish. If anyone is interested in being a part of the group, please email Stephen Shinnick at:  emmausppc@eparish.org.au

ALL PARISHIONERS ARE INVITED TO THE REGION 3 ASSEMBLY GATHERING

4th MAY, 11am - 3pm. Emmaus is part of a gathering of 8 Parishes and our 14 associated Schools which will meet at the Sacred Heart College, Champagnat Campus at Mitchell Park to contribute to the developing vision for our Adelaide Diocese which has arisen out of the two Diocesan Assemblies held recently.

This will mark an opportunity to offer comments and recommendations from the grassroots level of our parish and school communities in an informal but organised way. We will have the opportunity to gather with people from a range of neighbouring communities and to share our initiatives and experiences. After a sausage sizzle lunch, we will share our visions and concerns for our local church and ultimately advise the Diocese of our findings and recommendations.

So please keep this date free and come along and make your voice heard. Registrations for this event can be via the QR code, or by manual registration forms which are located in the church foyers.
